#003 - A First Release

Listen on Spotify or watch on YouTube

Today marks a small but important milestone for Cybernetks.

I’ve released my first product.

It’s not a game. It’s not an app. It’s not even particularly flashy. It’s a printable productivity planner, and honestly, that’s exactly what I wanted my first release to be: something small, useful, and something I can improve over time.

Version 0.1 contains two printable PDF pages:

  • A Yearly Overview
  • A Monthly Overview

They can be printed and used on paper, or imported into a note-taking app on a reMarkable, iPad, or Android tablet.

Why build another planner?

Over the years I’ve tried a lot of productivity tools and planning systems. Most of them are great at helping you organize everything: projects, milestones, tasks, deadlines… the whole picture.

But I kept running into the same problem.

I wasn’t struggling to organize my work. I was struggling to focus on what mattered most.

The more things I planned, the more scattered I became.

So I started thinking about what a planner would look like if it was designed around focus first.

The idea

The Yearly Overview starts with a single focus.

From there, you break that focus down into monthly milestones. If you have multiple projects or goals, simply use another page. Each page has one purpose instead of trying to fit everything into the same overview.

The Monthly Overview takes one of those milestones and turns it into action.

You define your focus for the month and then break it down into weekly actions. The goal isn’t to create the perfect plan, it’s to make sure you always know what you’re working towards.

Both pages also include a small log/debrief section. I like taking a moment to write down what worked, what didn’t, and what I want to carry into the next month or year.

Version 0.1

This is very much a first iteration.

There are plenty of things I already want to improve. The design is intentionally simple for now, and I want to make it cleaner, more minimal, and easier to use over time.

I also have ideas for additional pages, like daily planning and other focus-oriented views, but I’d rather release something useful today than wait until everything is perfect.

That’s what Cybernetks is about: building, learning, and iterating in public.

Try it yourself

The Cybernetks Planner v0.1 is completely free to download.

If you give it a try, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think. Whether it’s something you enjoy, something that feels awkward, or an idea that would make it better, your feedback will help shape future versions.

You can download it here:
